Kicking Off the Butterfly Effect
Driving Climate Action Together
Our mission is bold: to kickstart the removal of 100 billion tonnes of CO₂. Through the Butterfly Effect, every small action triggers a chain reaction of environmental and social impact, helping us reach this ambitious goal.
Who We Are?
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to removing 100 billion tonnes of CO₂ while creating lasting, positive change for both the planet and its people. 100BT is a purpose-driven organization registered in Ireland, structured to ensure every resource—whether it’s funds, energy, or effort—is directed toward advancing CO₂ removal. Our pledge to reinvest all profits into scaling sustainable solutions is legally embedded in our company’s foundation, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
We exist to provide tangible climate solutions that go beyond talk. Through your membership, we fund the deployment of soil rescue minerals like olivine, basalt, and biochar to marginalized farms. This model amplifies your impact by not only driving large-scale carbon removal but also supporting farmers, improving their livelihoods, and restoring degraded lands. Every membership contribution is dedicated to measurable, high-integrity CO₂ removal and meaningful social impact.
Our Commitment Framework
Our Commitment Framework ensures that every aspect of our work—our approach, pledge, and structure—is designed to maximize impact. From leveraging cutting-edge carbon removal techniques to reinvesting profits for sustainable growth, we are fully dedicated to driving measurable climate action and empowering communities.
Our Approach
Scaling Carbon Removal Through Biochar and Rock Mineralization
We combine the power of Biochar and Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) to maximize carbon removal and ecosystem restoration. Biochar locks carbon in the soil for centuries, while ERW uses rock minerals to absorb CO₂ naturally. Together, these methods deliver multiple co-benefits—improving soil health, boosting crop productivity, and supporting farmers in building resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.
Our Pledge
Matching Every Contribution Tenfold
For every membership, we commit to deploying 1 tonne of soil rescue minerals like olivine, basalt, and biochar in field projects. These initiatives are designed for maximum CO₂ removal and meaningful social impact, ensuring your contribution creates lasting change.
Our Structure
Built for Impact, Not Profit
100BT stands for 100 billion tonnes. We are a registered company in Ireland, with a mandate to dedicate all profits to advancing CO₂ removal. This commitment is written into our company’s legal foundation. Every resource—whether funds, energy, or time—is fully directed toward achieving our climate goals.
Revenue Model
We retain 15% of all revenue to cover essential operational needs, including staff salaries, project development, product innovation, and marketing. These funds enable us to scale our impact effectively while maintaining full transparency and accountability.
- Operational Costs 15%
- Direct Impact Funding 85%
CO₂ Credits and Verification
Soil Sampling
We collect soil samples before and after biochar and rock mineral application to track changes in carbon content and soil health.
Independent Lab Analysis
Samples are analyzed by accredited laboratories to measure key metrics such as alkalinity, organic carbon levels, and trace minerals.
Third-Party Auditing
All results are verified by independent CO₂ auditors, ensuring compliance with high-integrity carbon removal standards like Puro and the UK Carbon Code.
CO₂ Credits: A Cautious Approach

We approach the CO₂ credit market with careful scrutiny. On a case-by-case basis, we assess the feasibility of generating CO₂ credits for each farmer. If viable, a portion of the revenue is shared directly with the farmers, ensuring they benefit from the carbon they help sequester.
Our skepticism stems from several issues:
• High registry fees and unsustainable pricing models.
• Corporate greenwashing, where companies talk about climate action but fail to deliver meaningful results.
• The risk of using CO₂ credits as a justification for continued emissions.
We believe carbon removals should drive real climate action, not serve as a license for inaction. That’s why our project and its impact are structured to not rely on CO₂ credit revenue.
For the projects where we do generate CO₂ credits, we follow stringent verification protocols to ensure high-integrity carbon removal. This includes:
1. Soil Sampling: Collecting and analyzing soil samples before and after biochar and rock mineral application.
2. Independent Lab Analysis: Using accredited labs to measure key metrics such as alkalinity, organic carbon content, and trace minerals (e.g., Ni and MgO).
3. Third-Party Auditing: All data is independently verified by CO₂ auditors, following the standards set by Puro and the UK Carbon Code.
Verified credits are registered on a secure registry to prevent double counting, ensuring full transparency. Current buyers of these high-integrity credits include companies like Google, Microsoft, Stripe, and Amazon.
This rigorous process guarantees that every tonne of CO₂ removed meets the highest standards, delivering real and lasting impact.
